Ted Megaways from Blueprint Gaming is based on the film character Ted and built around cascading wins, mystery symbols, and a free spins round that builds multipliers as it goes. It keeps things fairly familiar on the mechanics side, while leaning hard into its character-driven presentation.
Ted, the not-so-cuddly reminder to be careful what you wish for, has already shown up in online slots, thanks to Blueprint Gaming locking in the licence and building a whole mini-series around him. Now he returns in Ted Megaways.
Fans of the earlier games will recognise the symbol lineup straight away; the lower-paying icons stick to card ranks, while the higher-value symbols bring in the duck, Ted’s special lady friend Tami-Lynn, a six-pack of beer, and the Ted logo.
Ted himself’s the Wild, while the Thunder Buddies show up as a scatter that unlocks the Free Spins round when enough land on the reels.
The soundtrack is slots noises up front, laidback jazz in the background, and, of course, Ted tossing out one-liners from beside the reels.
Whenever a win lands, the winning symbols are removed and replaced by new ones dropping down and if new combinations form, the process repeats.
On random spins, Ted can drop a large number of mystery symbols onto the reels and, once revealed, they all turn into the same symbol, which can lead to unexpected clusters of wins, which is nice.
Landing 4 scatters triggers the free spins round. Players can take 12 spins straight away, or take a chance on a wheel spin that changes the starting number of spins and gives a guaranteed number of Megaways, During the feature, a multiplier increases after each cascade, and Ted symbols can extend the round by adding extra spins.
Ted Megaways uses a 6-reels plus a horizontal four-position reel across the top. Vertical reels can land between 2 and 7 symbols on a spin, creating anywhere from 324 up to 117,649 ways to win depending on how the reels land, wins are formed from left to right on adjacent reels, and cascades trigger after winning combinations.

Getting down to basics, Ted Megaways is your standard Blueprint Megaways setup. Obviously a winning formula, since it’s being churned out again and again, but still and all, we would’ve liked to have seen a bit more originality in the gameplay.
On the upside, Ted is there in all his glory, and he never fails to disappoint. The graphics are on point for a branded slot, so overall, this is a game that will appeal to both fans of the film and Blueprint’s Megaways formula. But not so much to players who aren’t into either.
